A home that does not look empty

Why prevention can begin before an alarm sounds.

A home that does not look empty

An alarm reacts when something has already happened. SimLiveSecurity proposes a different starting point: make a vacant home look as though somebody is living there. Lights and sounds become part of a preventive strategy.

More natural than a timer

A lamp that switches on at precisely the same minute each evening may be predictable. A changing sequence of lighting and household sounds could create a more believable impression of everyday activity.

A device with a clear purpose

The project also explores a compact local unit based on Raspberry Pi hardware. The aim is to run presence scenarios inside the home rather than depend entirely on a distant service. It is an idea about deterrence, not a guarantee against burglary; good physical security remains important.
